Cardiac Testing

Heart Diagnosis and Early Detection

Cardiac testing is essential for detecting cardiac and vascular problems before life-threatening events occur. The highly trained staff of the Lima Memorial Cardiac Treatment Center (CTC) include physicians, cardiac nurses, sonographers, technicians, and therapists. The Cardiac Treatment Center uses a variety of test equipment and diagnostic procedures. Key tests include treadmill exercise stress tests using state-of-the-art SPECT imaging to assess cardiac-related symptoms, nuclear stress tests to detect inadequate blood supply, and specialized imaging technology to see and assess the condition of the heart muscle.

The CTC also provides a wide range of other heart testing, monitoring and cardiac health programs, including:

  • Tilt table testing
  • Electrocardiograms
  • Holter portable scanning systems
  • 30-day event recording
  • Accredited echocardiography laboratory (the first accredited echocardiography lab in the region), including 3D transesophageal echocardiograms
  • Cardiac and Pulmonary rehabilitation program
  • Pacemaker clinic
  • Implantable cardiac defibrillator (ICD) clinic
  • Congestive heart failure clinic
