Cardiac Testing for Heart and Vascular Issues
Expert Heart Diagnosis and Early Detection
Cardiac testing is essential for early detection of cardiac and vascular problems before life-threatening events occur. Our dedicated team at the Cardiac Treatment Center (CTC), is comprised of physicians, cardiac nurses, sonographers, techs and therapists.
The Cardiac Treatment Center uses a variety of cardiac test equipment and diagnostic procedures to get to the bottom of your heart symptoms.
Key cardiac tests include treadmill exercise stress tests using state-of-the-art SPECT imaging to assess cardiac-related symptoms, nuclear stress tests to detect inadequate blood supply, and specialized imaging technology to see and assess the condition of the heart muscle.
The CTC also provides a wide range of other heart testing, monitoring and cardiac health programs, including:
- Tilt table testing
- Tilt table testing helps diagnose the cause of unexplained fainting. You lie on a special table that tilts while we monitor your heart rate and blood pressure. This test helps us understand how your body responds to changes in positions. Our team will ensure your comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
- Electrocardiograms
- An electrocardiogram (ECG) records the electrical activity of your heart. Small sensors are placed on your skin to measure your heart's rhythm and detect any abnormalities. This quick and painless test helps diagnose heart conditions and ensure your heart is functioning properly.
- Holter portable scanning systems
- A Holter monitor is a portable device you wear to record your heart's activity over 24-48 hours. It helps us detect irregular heart rhythms that might not show up during a regular ECG.
- 30-day event recording
- 30-Day event recorders are portable devices you wear to monitor your heart's activity for up to a month. You activate the recorder when you experience symptoms, helping us capture irregular heart rhythms over a longer period.
- Cardiac rehabilitation program
- The LMHS Cardiac Rehabilitation Program provides personalized exercise and education to help you recover after a heart event. The program supports your journey to better heart health through monitored physical activity and lifestyle changes.
- Implantable Cardiac Defibrillator (ICD) Clinic
- The Lima Memorial ICD Clinic, if applicable, provides care for your implanted defibrillator. We monitor and adjust your ICD to ensure it can effectively treat life-threatening heart rhythms and keep your heart safe.
- Congestive Heart Failure Clinic
- The LMHS Congestive Heart Failure Clinic in the LMHS Comprehensive Health Center provides comprehensive care for patients with heart failure. Our team helps you manage your condition with personalized treatment plans, education and support to improve your quality of life. Click here to learn more about our Congestive Heart Failure Clinic.
