Lima Memorial Family Birth Center features a Level II neonatal nursery to provide advanced care for babies born at 32 weeks gestation or later. The nursery staff includes pediatric hospitalists, registered nurses and respiratory therapists specially trained in advanced neonatal care.
While your baby is in the Special Care Nursery, we offer courtesy stays so mothers may stay with their baby, as room is available. Parents are encouraged to spend as much time as possible with their newborns and participate and learn about their care while their newborn is in the Special Care Nursery. A large window provides viewing for other family and friends while your baby is in Special Care.
Lima Memorial Level II neonatal nursery staff works closely to educate and teach families about any special procedures or medications the newborn may need while in the special care nursery and preparing them to go home.
Lima Memorial Family Birth Center is an extension of ProMedica Toledo Children’s Hospital, bringing the expertise of one of the Midwest’s top pediatric hospitals closer to home for families in West Central Ohio. For babies who need the most critical level of care, this partnership with Toledo Children’s Hospital and its Level III neonatal nursery ensures babies receive the highest level of care possible.
