Lima Memorial is one of many hospitals across the nation facing significant capacity constraints within our inpatient units. In addition to increased health care needs and limited capacity, the prevalence of patients in observation status continues to increase.

This Observation Unit will enhance the experience of our patients and their family members by alleviating the necessity for patients to remain in our Emergency Center while waiting for the appropriate in-hospital room to become available, thus expediting their diagnosis and streamlining their treatment; this includes our patients arriving with cardiac concerns.

With our community's support, we will create a dedicated Observation Unit that will give Lima Memorial the ability to have one dedicated location for observation patients, promoting quicker in-hospital decision-making and creating an environment that allows our caregivers to focus on the unique short-term needs of observation patients.
