Donor Recognition

The Lima Memorial Foundation is grateful to our friends who invest in the health of our community through philanthropic gifts to the Foundation. It is our privilege to recognize those who give so generously to support Lima Memorial’s mission.

Gifts may support specific programs, services or funding priorities or be made in honor or memory of someone special. Memorial and honorary gifts are a meaningful way to celebrate a life, mark an occasion or show appreciation while helping advance the health of our community. 

In February 2026, the Lima Memorial Board of Trustees announced the July retirement of Mike Swick, Chief Executive Officer, following more than 25 years of dedicated service to Lima Memorial and the community. At this year’s Ovation event, the Lima Memorial Foundation, in partnership with Lima Memorial Health System, proudly recognized Mike Swick’s leadership and commitment to local health care.

Mike Swick has led Lima Memorial with steady vision, a servant’s heart and a deep commitment to the community he was raised in. As we recognize his contributions, we reflect on the roles he continues to embody as a Leader, Visionary, Collaborator, Mentor and Family Man, each shaping Lima Memorial and the patients and families he has always been privileged to serve.

Thank you, Mike, for your leadership, your vision and your unwavering commitment to Lima Memorial, our patients and their families.

Each year, the Lima Memorial Foundation hosts Ovation to recognize individuals and businesses who so selflessly give to support Lima Memorial’s mission. Special recognition is given to those who have achieved cumulative milestone levels of giving to the Foundation. Additionally, the Infinity Award is given to honor an individual or business who has displayed a boundless commitment to Lima Memorial. The Ambassador of the Year Award recognizes an individual who exemplifies volunteerism by selflessly and enthusiastically devoting his or her time, energy and resources to further the mission of the Lima Memorial Foundation.

The following individuals and businesses received special recognition at the Foundation’s Ovation donor recognition event. 

The Alice Henderson Award pays tribute to Lima City Hospital’s first chief nurse who shaped our community’s healthcare delivery system more than a century ago. The Alice Henderson Award honors individuals and businesses who continue to shape the future of health care in our community through cumulative gifts of $25,000 or more to the Lima Memorial Foundation.

The Chairman Award is reserved exclusively for individuals and businesses who demonstrate a significant commitment to improving the health of our community by contributing cumulative gifts of $100,000 or more to the Lima Memorial Foundation.

Honoring Chad Hughes

Chad Hughes leads with heart and has a passion for strengthening our community. His dedication to preserving local history and his creative contributions to the Allen County Fair and Lima Memorial events reflect a deep commitment to others. In every role, Chad brings purpose and generosity, embodying the spirit of the Infinity Award.

The Ambassador of the Year Award honors an individual who exemplifies volunteerism by selflessly and enthusiastically devoting his or her time, energy and resources to further the mission of the Lima Memorial Foundation.                             

Honoring Ann Welly

Ann Welly has gone above and beyond in her role as Lima Memorial Foundation Emerging Philanthropists Chair. Through initiatives like Spread the Love and her ongoing leadership, she brings energy, compassion and a strong commitment to giving back, helping inspire the next generation of philanthropy in our community.

The Frank E. Baxter Society honors individuals and businesses that have demonstrated unwavering commitment to local health care through 15 years of consecutive giving to the Lima Memorial Foundation. Named after one of the original founders of Lima City Hospital, Frank E. Baxter, this society recognizes those whose steadfast generosity continues his legacy of ensuring exceptional care for our community. Through their dedication, these new members play a vital role in advancing the health and well-being of our region for generations to come.

Each year, Lima Memorial Associates come together to support Living the Spirit, an associate-driven campaign focused on supporting one another and the health of our community through gifts to the Foundation. Associates are recognized who choose to make the Leadership and Spirit pledge, a donation that is the equivalent of 40 hours of pay – all to support their fellow associates and or community.
