Local Boy Scouts Join in the Planting of Lima Memorial’s Serenity Garden

For his Eagle Scout service project, thirteen-year-old Noah Brennan has begun transforming Lima Memorial’s courtyard into a healthy and revitalized recreational space called the Lima Memorial Serenity Garden. Noah’s goal is to redesign the space so everyone visiting and working at the hospital has the opportunity to enjoy a healthy and serene environment.

On Saturday, September 4, local Boy Scouts and leaders will join Noah to begin the planting phase of the garden. The garden will include a variety of plants and flowers for patients, visitors and associates to enjoy, including hibiscus, Japanese maple trees, cocktail roses, lilacs and more. This work will be a significant step in completing the project and providing additional service hours for local Boy Scouts.

Noah is a scout with Troop 777 and is currently in the rank of Life Scout. Now, he is working towards his Eagle Scout rank—the highest rank in Boy Scouts. As part of this project, Noah will be raising necessary funds, designing the project and completing the work needed to revitalize the area.

If you are interested in supporting Noah in his efforts to create the Lima Memorial Serenity Garden, gifts can be made online at limamemorial.org/foundation or by mailing a check to the Lima Memorial Foundation Serenity Garden at 1001 Bellefontaine Avenue, Lima, OH 45804.
