Lima Memorial’s Rehabilitation team continues to lead the way in advancing the quality of care available for patients in our region. Kayla Mansfield, Physical Therapist, and Stacey Verhoff, Speech Language Pathologist, recently obtained certification for skills that will further benefit our patients with unique rehabilitation needs.

Kayla Mansfield achieved certification as a board-certified clinical specialist in neurologic physical therapy by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). This distinction sets Kayla apart as the only neurologic clinical specialist in the region and sets Lima Memorial’s physical therapy program apart by providing patients access to advanced clinical knowledge, experience and skills in neurologic practice. Kayla joins a coveted group of individuals to obtain this honor nationally. “I am so proud of Kayla’s achievement,” stated Tony Rampulla, Physical Therapy Manager. “This provides an advanced level of care for our patients who require this highly specialized level of rehabilitative care.”

Stacey Verhoff, Speech Language Pathologist, achieved certification to perform the Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile. This distinction further elevates the care being provided by Lima Memorial’s Speech Therapy Program by providing a standardized protocol to interpret and communicate swallowing impairment to providers after patients complete a Modified Barium Swallow Study. Stacey is the only Speech Language Pathologist in the region to have this certification. “Stacey’s accomplishment will have a tremendous impact on our patients as we continually strive to provide them with an improved quality of life,” stated Roberta Keenan, Occupational Therapy Manager. “We are proud to have Stacey as a part of our team.”

Lima Memorial Rehabilitation helps to improve the lives of patients with a variety of physical and cognitive needs. Our trained and certified professionals continue to dedicate their efforts to providing advanced level of care for our patients and community.
