Lima Memorial Names Burlin Sherrick as Vice President & Chief Operating Officer

Lima Memorial Health System is pleased to announce the appointment of Burlin Sherrick, DCLS, MBA, MT (ASCP), SBB, as Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, effective June 1, 2026. Sherrick has served in several leadership roles at Lima Memorial, most recently as Executive Director of Ancillary Services.

Throughout his tenure, Sherrick has demonstrated a strong commitment to operational and clinical excellence and advancing access to care across our region. He has played an integral role in leading clinical and operational service lines, supporting hospital performance, financial stewardship and the successful execution of key strategic initiatives. 

“Burlin is a respected and experienced leader who understands the importance of aligning operational excellence with exceptional patient care,” said Lynn Carpenter, President. “His deep knowledge of our organization and commitment to our mission and values position him to help lead Lima Memorial into the future.”

Sherrick holds a Doctor of Clinical Laboratory Science degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch, a Master of Business Administration from Tiffin University and a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from the Medical University of South Carolina. He is also actively engaged in the community, serving on several local boards and organizations.

His promotion reflects Lima Memorial’s ongoing commitment to thoughtful succession planning and leadership development, as he assumes the role previously held by Carpenter, who will transition to President & Chief Executive Officer this summer.
