Lima Memorial Laces Up for Third Annual Milestones in Motion 5K Run & Walk

Lima Memorial Health System is inviting the community to hit the pavement for a purpose during its third annual Milestones in Motion 5K Run & Walk on Saturday, May 30, at Lima Memorial’s main campus. More than just a race, the event brings together families, friends, associates and community members to celebrate movement, connection and the power of helping neighbors in need.

Proceeds from this year’s event will once again support the Lima Memorial Foundation Samaritan Fund, which assists patients facing barriers after hospitalization, including transportation, medications, clothing and other essential recovery needs.

“Seeing this event continue to grow year after year has been incredibly inspiring,” shares Sam Schroeder, LMHS Lab Director and 5K Host. “It’s become more than a run or walk. It’s a chance for people of all ages and abilities to come together, support one another and make a real difference for patients in our community.”

Participants can choose to run, walk or simply enjoy the morning alongside fellow community members while supporting a meaningful cause close to home.

“The Samaritan Fund helps bridge gaps for patients during some of life’s most difficult moments,” adds Mitchel Hoying, Case Management Director and Samaritan Fund advocate. “Every registration, every donation and every person who shows up helps provide hope and support when it’s needed most. That’s what makes this event so special.”

Registration for the event will begin at 8 a.m., with the race starting at 9 a.m. The entry fee is $20 for all participants, while children 12 and under may participate free of charge.
