Lima Memorial Goes Red for Heart Health Awareness

On Friday, February 7, Lima Memorial Health System associates will proudly wear red in honor of National Wear Red Day, a part of American Heart Month, to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease and stroke—the leading threat to women. This annual event encourages everyone to wear red in support of a healthier future for the women in our lives and women nationwide.
According to the American Heart Association, cardiovascular disease claims the lives of one in three women annually in the U.S. Despite its impact, many women remain unaware of their risk. For Lima Memorial, National Wear Red Day serves as a powerful reminder of the steps we can all take to protect and improve women’s heart health.
“Heart disease doesn’t always give a warning,” shared Dr. Pamela Gardner, cardiologist at Lima Memorial Health System. “By wearing our red, we hope to bring visibility to this critical health issue and spark important conversations about establishing heart-healthy habits and knowing your risk for heart disease and stroke.”
