Spirit in Everything We Do
Lima Memorial Health System will join hospitals across the country in celebrating National Hospital Week, May 10–16, 2026. This year’s theme, “Spirit in Everything We Do,” reflects the heart behind every interaction, where compassion, expertise and purpose come together to serve our community.
At Lima Memorial, that spirit is seen in every role, every department and every moment of care. Hospital Week provides an opportunity to recognize the associates and volunteers whose dedication extends far beyond the bedside, shaping the experience of patients and families across our region.
A highlight of the week will be the Great Care Champion Celebration on Monday, May 11, at 9 a.m. During this event, 14 associates will be honored as Champions of Great Care. Nominated by their peers, these individuals embody the spirit of Lima Memorial, leading with compassion, supporting their teammates and delivering care that puts patients first.
The week will also include spirited activities for Lima Memorial associates, including a celebratory meal made by Food & Nutrition Services and served by Lima Memorial’s Executive and Leadership team across all three shifts, offering a personal thank you to those who bring Great Care to Lima Memorial every day.
“It has been a privilege to serve alongside such a hardworking team for more than 25 years,” said Mike Swick, CEO of Lima Memorial Health System. “Our associates show up each day with a shared commitment to care for others, and that dedication is truly what defines the spirit of Hospital Week and the spirit of Lima Memorial.”
About National Hospital Week
National Hospital Week is the nation’s largest annual healthcare celebration. First observed in 1921, it was established to build trust and strengthen the relationship between hospitals and the communities they serve, something that remains essential today.
