What to Expect During Your MRI
We want you to feel prepared and at ease.
Before your exam:
- You’ll complete a screening accessment
(Any implanted medical devices such as a pacemaker, metal implants, etc.), prior surgeries, concerns - Our team will explain the process and answer your questions
During your exam:
- You’ll lie on a comfortable table with open space around you
- You’ll be able to communicate with the technologist at all times
- Many patients listen to music during the scan
- Most exams take 15–45 minutes, depending on the type of imaging
After your exam:
- You can return to normal activities right away (unless told otherwise)
- Your can view your results via your online eHealth portal within 24 hours and will be sent to your provider for review
