Treatment Matters. How You’re Treated Matters More.
Treatment Matters. How You're Treated Matters More.

Blaine wasn’t looking forward to his first speech therapy appointment. He walked in unsure and a little reluctant. But that changed quickly.
Kathryn Imke, Lima Memorial Speech Language Pathologist, turned his expectations around. Blaine describes Kathryn as the sincerest person he’s ever worked with for care following his sudden injury. Her encouragement, patience and genuine kindness made such an impression that he admits he almost thought it was too good to be true.
“She did such a great job,” he shared. “I couldn’t believe it.”
Speech therapy wasn’t Blaine’s first Great Care experience. He was referred to a variety of therapies and treatments and continued receiving care at multiple locations throughout Lima Memorial Health System. Through several medical challenges and multiple services, he says the consistency has been remarkable.
“From the very first place I went to, I couldn't believe they treated me like an actual person,” Blaine shared. “I was just taken aback by the way they helped me. I continued to go to other locations with Lima Memorial, and each place I went, I got treated the exact same way at every facility,” he said.
For Blaine, the difference is clear.
“I think it's very important that a health care facility treat the people like they are a patient,” he said.
Blaine’s treatment mattered, but what stood out the most to him is the people. Because sometimes the greatest impact isn’t just in the treatment provided. It’s in how you make someone feel while they are receiving it.
