Lima Memorial Health System, in collaboration with the Allen County Association of Chiefs of Police (ACACP), hosted a two-day Law Enforcement Active Shooter Training on Monday, August 18, and Tuesday, August 20, at Lima Memorial’s main campus.
This specialized training brought together local law enforcement officers for critical scenario-based exercises designed to strengthen rapid response strategies and reinforce community protection efforts.
“Ensuring the safety of our patients, visitors and associates is always top of mind,” shared Rick Sanchez, LMHS Security Manager & Chief of Police. “We are proud to support law enforcement by providing an environment where officers can prepare for real-world emergencies that could affect our entire community.”
The training has been coordinated with the support of Chief Ben Altenbach, representing the ACACP, and the LMHS Police Department. This initiative highlights the strong partnership between health care and law enforcement in Allen County, united by the common goal of safeguarding the health and well-being of the region.
“Preparedness saves lives,” said Chief Altenbach. “This training is essential in ensuring our officers are ready to respond quickly and effectively in any situation, with the shared goal of protecting our community.”
