Experience Health Care Up Close: Lima Memorial’s Explorer Program Kicks Off

Lima Memorial’s first Explorer Program session kicks off this year on Friday, October 31, at Lima Memorial’s main campus, giving local students an exciting chance to dive into the world of healthcare careers. This program gives students real-world healthcare experiences and leadership opportunities, helping them discover their passions and prepare for future careers in medicine.

The event begins at noon and will feature interactive stations in rehabilitation, laboratory and radiology services, where students can see firsthand what these medical professionals do each day and how they make a difference. 

At the rehabilitation station, students will try out therapeutic exercises and equipment used to help patients regain strength, mobility and independence in Lima Memorial’s state-of-the-art Inpatient Rehabilitation Center. 

With Lima Memorial’s laboratory team, students will step behind the scenes to see how blood work and other diagnostic tests are performed, discovering the critical role labs play in diagnosing and monitoring illnesses.

Lima Memorial Radiology professional will invite students to explore imaging technologies like X-rays, CT scans and MRIs, helping them gain insight into how radiology teams use these tools to uncover what may be happening inside the body and guide treatment decisions.
