Your health and safety are our highest priorities

In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, much of our nation paused, including health systems to conserve personal protective equipment. For many, that pause meant delaying treatment and preventive care. Now, as we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, it is time for you to take care of your health and well-being. And as you do, we want to reassure you we are following every safety precaution at our hospital, physician offices and facilities to protect you.

Lima Memorial Health System has been nationally recognized for our comprehensive infection prevention program. In light of COVID-19, we have added new safety measures which reflect the latest recommendations from experts to protect individuals from spreading and contracting the virus. We are continually evaluating best practices and implementing protocols to best serve our community. Our safety measures include:

Visitation Information

Please find our current visitor information here.

Universal Masking

Individuals entering a Lima Memorial facility are still required to wear a face covering over the nose and mouth at all times. Recent CDC and ODH guidelines for fully vaccinated individuals does not apply to healthcare settings.

Physical Distancing

Physical distancing of 6 feet is known to help stop the spread of the virus. We have redesigned public areas, waiting rooms and registration areas to ensure physical distancing. You may also see markers on the floor to help identify safe distancing.

Hand Hygiene

Creating a safe environment for our patients begins with hand hygiene. Our caregivers thoroughly wash their hands with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer before they care for you. We ask you to practice good hand hygiene, too. Please sanitize your hands when entering any of our facilities and throughout your visit. We have placed hand sanitizer throughout our facilities for your convenience.

Disinfecting Practices

Our Environmental Services Team has been nationally recognized for its robust infection prevention program. They thoroughly clean and disinfect all patient care areas, public areas and high-touch surfaces. Their outstanding commitment to safety has enabled us to provide a germ-free environment for our patients, their families and our associates.

Tru-D Disinfecting Robots

Our Tru-D disinfecting robots provide an added layer of protection to our already robust infection prevention program. These ultra-violet robots are working around the clock to destroy 99.99 percent of all germs to provide unparalleled safety for patients and visitors.

Mandatory Health Screenings

Patients and Visitors: All patients and visitors will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms and have a temperature check.

Caring for Patients with COVID-19

Individuals experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 are carefully triaged, and if admission is required, they are cared for on an appropriate nursing unit with stringent safety measures in place.

Lima Memorial Physician Offices

Our Lima Memorial Physician (LMP) offices are caring for patients both in the office and virtually through telehealth. We offer same-day appointments to provide convenient access to care. As you schedule an appointment, you will be screened for symptoms of and exposure to COVID-19. Your path to care will be guided by your responses so we can maintain a safe environment for all those seeking care.

Offering in-office and telehealth visits expands access to care while minimizing the number of patients in the office at any one time. Patients are being asked to come to their appointment by themselves unless they require assistance. Upon arriving at one of our offices, patients will be required to wear a mask and have a temperature check. LMP offers limited-touch check-ins and has redesigned our registration area, waiting rooms and other public areas to ensure physical distancing and enhance safety. Additionally, LMP adheres to rigorous disinfecting protocols and hand hygiene practices set forth by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention.
