Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday

We have a day for giving thanks. We have three for getting deals. Now, we have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. Each year, on the Tuesday immediately following Thanksgiving, foundations, charities, families, businesses, students and individuals around the world will come together for one common purpose-- to celebrate generosity and to give.

Helping patients make a full recovery in a fun and engaging way.

Traditional rehabilitation therapy can be difficult, even grueling in some cases for patients. But a new wave of technology is providing a sense of ease to this hard work by providing a creative and motivational way to work through a therapy session.

Visual feedback systems empower patients with the resources needed to improve their performance, right at their fingertips. These systems allow patients to sit or stand and interact with an array of objects and games on a computerized touchscreen.

This engaging process helps patients recovering from injuries, illnesses and movement disorders by uniquely addressing the common deficits they are faced with, including lack of coordination, reaction time, perception, information processing, memory and endurance. Even more, real-time assessments make documenting and showing patients their progress quick and easy, which ultimately leads to a faster recovery time for them.

It’s well known having not only the patient but also their family engaged in their rehabilitation care is a key factor in their success. Visual feedback systems are designed to promote this level of engagement, raising rehabilitation therapy for patients to a whole new level.

Through community support, we will transform the way care is delivered for patients who require intense rehab following a stroke, trauma, major injury or debilitating illness. The project will leverage the outstanding care being provided by our inpatient rehabilitation team by creating a unique, family-centered, community-based environment, complete with innovative therapeutic technology.
