Physical Therapy


The outpatient Physical Therapy Department at Lima Memorial provides patients with activities and exercises that increase their physical capabilities and range of motion. Following an evaluation and established plan of care, the department provides a thorough course of treatment and rehabilitation.


Programs Available: 

Vestibular (balance) Rehabilitation Program
This program is for patients who are experiencing dizziness. For those with Benign Positional Paroxysmal Vertigo (BPPV), we can provide in-office maneuvers that have received a 100 percent success rate with no complaints of dizziness following the treatment for past patients. For those with inner ear problems other than BPPV, 90 percent of patients completing the program have no remaining problems with dizziness.

Fall Prevention/Balance Retraining Program
Loss of balance is treated with balance exercises and fall prevention strategies gained through participation in this program. Since 2004, patients taking part were rated when beginning the program as “high risk” for falling, and these same patients were categorized as “minimal risk” for falling once completing the program.

Image Builders
Image Builders teaches and promotes healthier habits and lifestyles for obese children and adolescents ages 5-18.

Infant Massage
Our Certified Infant Massage Therapist teams with LMHS’ Family Birth Center to provide infant massage to newborn babies and infants.        

Urowellness Program
This program provides individualized treatment and education for patients with stress/urge incontinence or overactive bladder.

Equestrian Therapy/Hippotherapy
Our physical therapy staff with advanced training in hippotherapy offers modality for pediatric patients through the use of horses to gain improved posture and head control. The program also improved socialization and endurance. The services for hippotherapy are provided at Fassett Farm in Allen County.
