The Occupational Therapy Department at LMHS offers a variety of services to help those who have had a stroke or other condition regain the skills needed for the job of living.
Services Include:
Splinting and Bracing
This area works to fit hand, wrist and a number of other braces as well as making custom-fitted splints.
Lymphedema Clinic
The LMHS Lymphedema Clinic works to diagnose and relieve swelling problems.
Custom Compression Garment Fitting
LMHS provides a trained professional to measure and fit these garments.
Equine Therapy/Hippotherapy
Equine therapy is available for children at the Fassett Farm in Allen County.
Driver’s Readiness Evaluations
Following any neurological or cognitive impairment, LMHS will test patients for their readiness to take a driving exam.
Developmental Therapy
This form of therapy works with children to promote and improve the skills they need to reach their maximum functional level.
Sensory Integration Therapy
Sensory integration therapy is designed to improve issues in the area of smelling, touching, tasting, hearing and feeling.
Therapeutic Listening Program
This program is designed to help children with listening problems become more focused.
Feeding and Swallowing Clinic
The feeding and swallowing clinic assesses and treats feeding and swallowing dysfunctions.
Vestibular (balance) Rehabilitation Program
This program provides maneuvers and exercises to relieve dizziness.
