Whether it's a small cut or a major accident, the
Emergency Center (EC) at Lima Memorial is prepared to take care of
you and your family.
There is a Fast Track area for less serious injuries and
illness as well as our Level II Trauma Center for more acute
issues. Our highly skilled team of trained emergency medicine
professionals stands ready 24 hours a day to deliver quality health
care, when you need it most.
We staff the EC with a board-certified emergency physician 24
hours a day, seven days a week. This ensures that you will always
be treated by the best and most experienced physician in the
region. And, we double our physician coverage during peak hours to
ensure you will be treated quickly.
In addition, our staff of registered nurses average 15 years of
experience working in an emergency room, and are required to be
certified in trauma, pediatrics and heart care.
At Lima Memorial's Emergency Center, there are no such things as
"minor" emergencies. So, for patients that do not require major
medical procedures or tests, we have created a distinctive service
called Fast Track.
This is a dedicated area and medical team which is open seven days
a week from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fast Track delivers quicker
treatment to patients who do not have a "serious injury." In most
cases, our fast track patients are in and out and on with their day
in under 90 minutes.
The Emergency Center is also the first phase of Lima
Memorial's Chest Pain Center. The accredited Chest Pain Center
ensures that patients suffering from chest pain receive streamlined
care as quickly as possible.
Everyone in the EC understands how important time is to those
suffering heart attacks. Statistics show that LMHS gets patients to
our Cath Labs in times that are 50 percent quicker than national
averages. In 2009, Lima Memorial was among the top 1% of
hospitals in the nation to be reaccredited with a Cycle III
designation...
