Detecting and treating breast cancer takes judgment and experience. Few medical professionals are more experienced than the nationally recognized team at Lima Memorial Women’s Health Center.
The Women’s Health Center at Lima Memorial Medical Park is a leader in breast cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Multidisciplinary teams, often including board-certified medical and radiation oncologists, radiologists, surgeons, plastic surgeons, mammographers, radiologists, and highly trained nurses, consult with each other on the treatment of every patient diagnosed with breast cancer.
The center is known for its expertise in breast cancer diagnosis. At the Women’s Health Center, screening mammograms are evaluated twice: once by a radiologist physician and again with new, innovative computer-aided detection (CAD) technology.
Lima Memorial Women’s Health Center is also a leader in breast cancer prevention, both in the community and nationwide. We were an active participant in the National Cancer Institute's STAR trials, one of the largest breast cancer prevention studies ever conducted. Women throughout the community have access to breast health education, consultations and support groups provided by the center. The Women's Health Center works closely with Cancer Institute to encourage regular mammograms for women at risk for breast cancer. In addition, we offer osteoporosis and bone health screening services to uninsured or underinsured women and men in our community, to allow for earlier diagnosis and treatment.
