About Us

The Lima Memorial Foundation: Turning Generosity Into New Capabilities

Lima is a community of giving. As we give, we benefit our entire community, as well as ourselves. Lima Memorial Health System was created by the people of Lima, is supported by the people of Lima and is responsible to the people of Lima. We are a truly independent healthcare system, not funded by a church or government entities. We depend on you to give. The Lima Memorial Foundation works to ensure your donations are used for the community’s benefit.

For example, in 2006, the Lima Memorial Foundation surpassed a $5 million goal for a Here for Life campaign to expand the Timmermeister Family Surgery Center, allowing us to create larger surgical suites, as well as new open-heart surgery suites. In 2011 and 2012, the foundation helped the volunteer auxiliary add four new suites to the Family Birth Center. Last year, the foundation contributed funds needed to purchase the da Vinci robotic surgical system.

We’re grateful for your generosity during our annual fundraising drive. We host two annual fundraisers: a Golf and Tennis Classic and the Journey to Remember gala. And we have many more ways for you to give in support of our philanthropic mission.
